The ADA ( American Dental Association) recommends that you see a dentist at least once every 6 months for a regular check up.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry suggests that a child sees the dentist when their first tooth appears or no later than their 1st birthday.

  • When should I replace my toothbrush?

Dentists and toothbrush manufacturers suggest you replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months.

  • Why should I floss?

Flossing reduces the number of bacteria in your mouth. Brushing your teeth gets rid of some of the bacteria in your mouth. Flossing gets rid of the bacteria the toothbrush can't get to.  If you do not floss, you allow plaque to remain between your teeth. Eventually it hardens into tartar. Plaque can be removed by brushing. Only the dentist can remove tartar

  • Why will the dentist take x-rays?

Dentists use x-rays to help diagnose damage and disease that is not visible during a clinical dental examination. How often X-rays, or radiographs, should be taken depends on specific factors such as an individual's current oral health, age, risk for disease and any signs or symptoms of oral disease.
